Okay. I really just had to make a post about this. Haha! EFFORT.
Today, Denise (pineappleupsidedown) and I dated since we were both craving for Japanese food (AGAIN. What’s new.) And I guess we both just got too tired of the usual Japanese restaurants in Ayala so we thought of trying something new. I think a friend recommended this place to her plus I’ve heard the prices are pretty reasonable here and we’re kinda namumulubi na (omg tha’s so like conyo roiiiiight? and stuff? haha watdakadiri.) that’s why we decided to take a look at the place.
1. It’s called Metro by Tokyo Tokyo (located at Glorietta 5 ground floor, beside North Park?) I don’t know if you’ve tried eating there already but it’s my first time so forgive me haha! Well obviously, it’s run by the same people as Tokyo Tokyo; I expected to see the same food (but not, more on that later!) Anyway, the place’s really pretty… (yes, too pretty I had to take pictures) and cozy… and they had good music on so I guess we made the right choice in dining there since we needed to talk about life so bad. MEGANON.
2. Those were chips (?) they served right before we even ordered. Most Japanese restos serve dilis or something. I would have wanted that but this was what we got. At first I thought, “What are those, carrot sticks?” but then I tried them and got something better than carrot sticks. :)) Awesome stuff. I don’t know what they were exactly but it’s pretty tasty! So, much love.
*Forgive me for being too shutter happy. I miss pretending to know so much about photography (But hey at least I had formal lessons, thanks FOTOCOM! (okay, I’m starting to go off-topic) PS, I’m using a compact cam.*
3. Tokyo Tokyo’s signature red Iced Tea in prettier presentation. Enough said.
4. Oh, this one. Den and I ordered creamy asparagus soup (Idk if that’s what they really call it.) I’m not a fan of asparagus so I have no idea why I agreed on her ordering this but now that I’d tried it, I must say I’m now a fan. :)) Asparagus + Cream = LOVE. Anything creamy is love for me I guess.
5. Creamy Salmooon Pastaaaa! And yes, those orange thingies are the same from the ones on top of California Maki! Crab roe? Or is it fish roe?
6. This is pork something. I forgot the name. But according to the servers, this is their best seller. I pretty much understand why that is so. You know those moments when you expect tender meat when you order something like this from a restaurant and you end up getting disappointed because you feel like you’re eating rubber? (ok srsly, that analogy, why.) This is EXACTLY NOT ONE of those moments. :)) Tender kung tender kasi. I wish had taken some of this home for my kuya. Or maybeeee I could just bring him there next time haha!
7. MY FAVORITE. Hah and yes I don’t remember the name again. Wacky Maki nga ba? DEN, HELP. :)) Anyway, prawn + CREAM CHEESE (AWESOME!) wrapped in nori (seaweed) + Japanese rice + COLORED RICE CRISPIES! Super sarap lang. I’d go back for more and more and more of this. <3
8.COLOSSAL BURGER = 200 grams of beef patty! There’s some shiitake there, too! And lettuce, and egg, and more. Plus it had potato wedges on the side pa. Feeling ko kahit 1/4 lang nito super busog na ‘ko. MUST TRY FOR BURGER LOVERS!
Overall, supersulitandbusog experience! We even ordered (cheap but really yummy) coffee after and they served it with Pocky sticks pa! This place is super different from all the Japanese restos I’ve been in. Super ‘di kayo malulugi. BIG SERVINGS pa kaya. I wish you guys will get to dine here, too. :)
My tummy will explode in 3… 2… 1….
Super PS: I don’t think you read this entry because a. It’s soooooo long, and b. You’d prefer staring at the food. I’d do the same. Haha!
Haha XD
Magaling pala sya mamili ng regalo :P
XD XD XD
The last time this dude made me LOL so hard was when he and Sue started a glee club civil war. His shocked face singing Endless Love is priceless.
